We have over 12 years experience in the fields of Geographical Information Systems and Mapping.
We design Deographical Information Systems for use in the following formats:
- ESRI ArcGIS
- PlanetGIS
Key personnel have assisted in projects that cover a wide scope of work including:
- Land Use Management Systems (LUMS)
- We assisted in quite a few LUMS projects. We assisted Sisonke Development Planners in LUMS all over Mpumalanga. The projects consisted of the updating of all cadastral data for the municipality, adding Surveyer General 21 digit codes and linking all the data to the updated landuses. Hard copy mapping was done for all the different municipalities and all mapping was supplied in PDF format as well. A GIS was then installed at hte municipality to assist in the future planning .
- Revenue Management Systems
- Some of our personnel worked on various revenue management projects for ESCOM and various municipalities with other companies.
- Valuation Rolls - Mpumalanga, Free State and Eastern Cape
- Some of our personnel worked on valuation roll projects while in the employ of previous companies. The worked consisted of capturing
all Surveyor General diagram coordinates or the farm portions and erven of the municipalities, converting them into a usable
format, reprojecting the coordiantes where necessary to be in WGS 84 datum. A wide variety of queries were run on the different
datasets that assisted in the compilation of the valuation rolls.
- Wildlife and Block Burning GIS
- Our experience in wildlife and block burning GIS helped us to compile a GIS mapping system for showing the different data for various years.
- Forest Fire Association Mapping
- The Forest Fire Association or FFA works with plantations, farmers and municipalties in the prevention and fighting of forest fires.
The mapping they use are for planning purposes and logistical decisions. Some of our personnel have assisted the FFA for many years in
the compilation of all maps for the whole of South Africa.
- Land Claim Geographical Information System
- The Land Claims Commission in Limpopo had a project where all priority claims had to be shown on a GIS. This was done using ArcMap. The different claims had to be classified by area, hectares claimed and number of claimants. The vegetation data was also added as a layer for further referencing. Personnel from Modjadji had done this complete project while working for a previous employer.
- Various Townplanning Projects
- We have loads of experience in town planning mapping. From township establishment maps to rezoning maps, we can do it all. We also have extensive aerial photography available.
